Connect Devices
Device credentials are registered in the Vault. The ConnectMyAssets appliance acts as the server: devices periodically connect to it and sync their running configuration. No agents, no manual steps.
Backup on Schedule
On schedule, devices connect to the ConnectMyAssets appliance and push their running configuration. Every version is stored with its timestamp, SHA256 hash, and the user or event that triggered it.

Common questions about network configuration backup
How often are network configurations backed up?
You can schedule automated backups at any interval, hourly, daily, or weekly. On-demand backups are also available with a single click. Each backup is stored as a versioned snapshot with SHA256 integrity verification.
Can I compare two configuration versions?
Yes. The built-in diff tool provides line-by-line comparison between any two configuration snapshots, highlighting additions, deletions, and modifications. You can compare against compliance baselines too.
How does one-click rollback work?
Select any previous configuration version from the history and review the diff. Rollback triggers a new provisioning job: the device fetches the target configuration from the ConnectMyAssets appliance, exactly like ZTP. The rollback is logged and auditable.
Which vendors are supported for configuration backup?
ConnectMyAssets supports 100+ vendors including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista, and many more. Configuration collection uses device-initiated sync: devices connect to the ConnectMyAssets appliance and deliver their running configuration. The collection method depends on the device: NETCONF, RESTCONF, REST API, or other vendor-supported protocols. SNMP is used for device discovery and MIB reading, not for configuration collection.
Is configuration data encrypted at rest?
Yes. All configuration snapshots are stored with encryption at rest. Credentials used to access devices are kept in an RSA-encrypted vault, separate from configuration data.
