What is ConnectMyAssets AI and how does it work?
ConnectMyAssets AI is a natural-language query interface powered by an AI engine running entirely on your ConnectMyAssets appliance. It performs semantic search over your network data, CMDB records, configuration backups, CVE information, and compliance status. When you ask a question in plain language, the AI interprets your intent, queries the relevant data sources, and returns a structured answer. No external AI service is involved at any point.
Is my network configuration data sent to external AI services?
No. ConnectMyAssets AI runs entirely on your own infrastructure, on your on-premises appliance. Your network configuration data, CMDB records, and any other information used by the AI never leave your environment. There are no API calls to any external AI service or cloud provider. The AI engine is loaded onto the appliance during initial setup and runs locally from that point on.
Does the AI work in fully isolated environments with no internet access?
Yes. The AI module requires no external connectivity. Once the model is loaded onto the appliance during initial setup, which can be done via an offline transfer, the AI operates with no cloud dependencies. All data stays on your infrastructure. This makes ConnectMyAssets AI suitable for critical infrastructure, defence, and industrial networks that require no external network access.
Can the AI make changes to my network?
No. The AI is strictly read-only by design. It has access to targeted data sources within ConnectMyAssets, configuration history, CMDB records, CVE data, compliance reports, but it has zero ability to execute commands, push configurations, or make any change to your network infrastructure. This is an architectural constraint, not a permission setting. Even if an adversary compromised the AI query interface, it could not use it to affect your network.
What data sources does the AI have access to?
The AI has read access to the data stored in your ConnectMyAssets instance: your device inventory and CMDB records, configuration backup history, CVE and vulnerability data associated with your devices, compliance check results, and network topology information. It does not have access to credentials stored in the vault, to your broader corporate network, or to any system outside of ConnectMyAssets.
Does the AI require any cloud service or external connectivity?
No. The AI engine runs entirely on the ConnectMyAssets appliance, with no external dependencies. No data is sent to any cloud provider, external API, or third-party service. In environments without a dedicated GPU, the platform falls back to a lighter inference mode. Once set up, the AI operates fully offline.
